National Transportation Safety Board Training Facility
The National Transportation Safety Board broke ground on a new training academy in 2001. The new facility is located on the George Washington University Virginia Campus. The NTSB's Academy was open in early 2003. The facility houses classrooms, laboratory space, and an accident simulation area. The Academy will teach state-of-the-art investigative techniques for transportation accidents and incidents for the benefit of investigators, operators and the traveling public worldwide.
Bowman Consulting was retained to repair the site plan for the National Transportation Safety Board (NTSB) warehouse and training facility, an integral part of the new Academy. Bowman Consulting was responsible for the design of the waterline, sanitary sewer, storm sewer, erosion and sediment control, site grading and the development of a best management practices (BMP) pond.
