My focus has been on land development projects, working on mostly mid to large size commercial development. Projects I have worked on include Wal-Mart Supercenter and Neighborhood Market sites, as well as retail outparcels development such as TGIFriday’s. Design work experience includes site planning and initial site investigations, design of site grading, utility systems, stormwater management systems, and obtaining the required local and state permits. I am also involved at the project manager level by overseeing the financial aspects of projects, and am actively involved in writing proposals and contracts.
Since starting in June 2004, I've seen a rapid increase in my responsibilities and client contact, and have since moved into a project manager role. I’ve been given various tasks since starting out that have allowed me to try different designs and concepts for the projects I am working on. I’ve been able to get involved in different aspects of projects from the start such as formulating proposals and contracts, and also been able to see projects through the design and construction phases. By being enrolled in the Kimley, Horn & Associates, Inc. Land Development University Training Program I was able to be immersed into the land development process from the start of my career. This program enabled me to learn about various technical and professional growth topics that have helped me become not only a better consultant, but also have a more rounded understanding of all that land development encompasses.
